What is Different About Our Dehydration Method?


At Alfagreen Supreme, we’ve chosen traditional dehydration methods over sun-cured product. Alfalfa is cut early to retain high leaf content and is only partially field dried before being chopped and then rushed to one of our seven processing plants. At the plant, the alfalfa is dehydrated indoors, ground into meal and processed into pellets. After processing, the pellets are cooled and transferred to large storage bins for additional aeration.

With our dehydration, luxurious color and aroma are enhanced, which leads to increased consumption of the feed. Our rapid drying process preserves the nutrients in the alfalfa, and reduces solubility of protein, which in turn improves protein utilization and increases the feed effectiveness of the alfalfa.
